Watch the recap of the Tompkins Supply Chain Leadership Forum (SCLF) 2018 to better understand the vision of our annual event; connecting, sharing, and learning.

CONNECTING:

Every year the forum starts with an opening reception, where you are given the opportunity to connect with other supply chain leaders in an interactive environment. This year’s theme was a tailgate party providing ping pong, cornhole, and other yard games. Also, leaders had the chance to make a local connection with a night out on the town, experiencing the Durham Bulls stadium and Tobacco Road.

SHARING:

Quality content and speakers make the difference at an executive forum. The SCLF provided both, with relevant supply chain hot topics, enabling all attendees to share ideas and best practices on the newest supply chain technology, transportation methods, material handling options, supply chain execution, fulfillment strategies, and network optimization. These were delivered through keynotes speeches, panel discussions, Q&A, interactive sessions, graphic recording, PechaKuchas, live demonstrations, and presentations. Some of the highlights from this year included Lee McCabe, VP with Alibaba, who discussed Alibaba’s growth and The New Retail, a live demonstration of t-Sort a Tompkins Robotics system, and Buddy Bush who addressed best work place practices.

LEARNING:

We always learn from Dr. James A. Tompkins, CEO of Tompkins International and MonarchFx. Dr. Tompkins kicked off the SCLF with a never before heard keynote speech that addressed, The Digital Imperative: Dealing with Uncertainty, Speed, and Reinvention, helping all attendees better understand where the supply chain industry is heading. Dr. Tompkins has been recognized for his innovative and excellence in supply chain knowledge over the years, most notably receiving the Frank and Lillian Gilbreth Industrial Engineering Award.
