Gartner recently released their report Market Guide for Supply Chain Strategy & Operations Consulting naming Tompkins International as a top supply chain consulting firm. All of us at Tompkins International consider Gartner to be a great resource and top in their industry. The report discusses supply chain strategy consulting services, written by specialist, Michael Dominy, Dana Stiffler, and Greg Aimi.
Tompkins International was selected as a supply chain firm that offers multiple services, strategy, and operations consulting. We were also mentioned as a specialist provider offering multiple services focusing on multiple industries, regions, and functional areas.
Supply chain operations consulting is a subset of business operations consulting, which Gartner defines as: “transformation advisory services for all business operations in an organization across all industries. These include process re-engineering, improvement, optimization, and standardization aligned with business strategy.” Supply chain and operations consulting is focused in industries that are highly dependent on the management of inventory, logistics, or manufacturing operations such as industrial manufacturing, consumer products, retail, life sciences, high-tech, natural resources, and, oil and gas producers. Gartner’s list is intended to provide more understanding of the market and its offerings.
Tompkins International ranked top in Gartner’s report for, supply chain strategy development, supply chain network design, sales & operations planning (S&OP), and the logistics process with a focus on third party logistics (3PL). Also, highly noted for wide geographical recognition including, North America, Western Europe, China, Japan, and the Asia Pacific region.
One of the recommendation included in Gartner’s Market Guide was, “choose the right supply chain strategy and operations consulting provider for your organization based on what you are trying to accomplish and the particular situation you’re facing. For example, there are instances when a global firm with a portfolio of services is the best choice for supply chain strategy and operations projects and other times when there would be a more appropriate choice. For example, if you need help with one function in one geography, a specialist might be a better option.”
We were also happy to have received additional strong marks in, industry discrete, consumer goods, retail, life sciences, high-tech, and distributors / wholesalers.
