RALEIGH, NC, June 22, 2005—Tompkins Emerging Technology Center (ETC) now features the high-speed Accu-Sort RFID Tunnel for world-class RFID testing solutions.
Just installed, the Accu-Sort tunnel supports conveyor line reading of EPC-compliant RFID tags at speeds up to 600 feet per minute. In addition, the ETC configuration can be used to test tag performance on customer-specific product packaging according to Wal-Mart and similar RFID compliance mandates.
“The Accu-Sort tunnel is a great addition to our growing RFID compliance testing services,” said Frank Morrell, Manager of the center. “With current and upcoming RFID mandates, it’s a big advantage to be able to test RFID applications in a real-world environment with actual product and high-speed equipment.”
Tompkins Associates’ RFID testing center also features the Accu-Sort RFR-02 HF (13.56 MHz) readers for conveyor line tote tracking and control. Located in Orlando, Florida, the ETC focuses on research, development and testing of emerging technologies such as RFID, voice-activated picking, and real-time warehouse controls.
