The Tompkins Emerging Technology Center features two RFID label printers that enable RFID tags to be encoded and printed at one station.


RFID reader allows tags to be read while cartons move across high-speed conveyor at the Tompkins Emerging Technology Center.


Additional readers, encoders and antennae for RFID Tags are used at the Tompkins Emerging Technology Center.


An additional RFID reader at the Tompkins Emerging Technology Center allows a pallet-load of cartons to go past the antennae for a reading.


Also available for use at the Tompkins Emerging Technology Center: A new hand-held device
with reader and encoder in a portable format.


Voice picking technology testing at the Tompkins Emerging Technology Center is conducted with:
- High accuracy picking
- Direct communication between order pickers and system
- Hands free, fast picking

Tompkins Emerging Technology Center’s Vision System:
As totes and cartons cross under the vision system, information is transmitted to the Tompkins Control System (TCS) and Warehouse Management System for instant data retrieval and process evaluation.
An added feature: It is capable of reading damaged barcodes
