Tompkins Associates' New Corporate Headquarters Opens in Raleigh

Worldwide Central Campus is Home to Over 120 Employees

Raleigh, NC, April 30, 2002—The Worldwide Central Campus of Tompkins Associates, the leading global Total Operations consulting, information technology implementation and material handling integration firm, has officially opened its doors. The 50,000 square foot campus is located at 8970 Southall Road in Raleigh, NC at 401 North, adjacent to the Neuse River and bordering the new site of Wake Technical Community College. (Due to a road name change instituted by the city of Raleigh, as of January 2008, the address has changed to 6870 Perry Creek Road, Raleigh, NC 27616.)

The Worldwide Central Campus serves as Tompkins Associates' corporate headquarters and is home to over 120 employees. Tompkins' other U.S. offices are located in California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Pennsylvania and Texas. The company's global offices include locations in the UK, continential Europe, Canada, Mexico and Australia.

Located on a 23-acre site, the campus currently consists of two buildings, a training and education area, a fitness center, including an indoor basketball court and a full service cafeteria. The campus is also home to Tompkins Press, Tompkins' in-house publishing company and Tompkins University, a resource devoted to providing professional development, continuing education and training to employees and clients. The Central Campus will support Tompkins' dedication to training and education by hosting employees, partners and clients for meetings, seminars and other training sessions. Tompkins has plans for a third building, which will house more offices and meeting space, to begin construction and open within two years.

Established in 1973 by James A. Tompkins, Ph.D., Tompkins Associates has been headquartered in Raleigh for almost 30 years. Growing out of Dr. Tompkins' home, the business eventually expanded to two locations in Raleigh-one on Millbrook Road and one on Salisbury Street in Downtown Raleigh. Building the Central Campus was more than a construction project, it was a team effort. More than half of Tompkins Associates' local employees participated in the campus development through one or more of the 11 teams created to support the campus. Employee teams determined campus IT needs, built excitement around the campus through internal promotions and designed themed "zones" around the campus, choosing artwork, plants and other décor.
