Tompkins Associates and Warehousing Management announce search for 2000 Peak Performer

Award recognizes industry leader for outstanding performance in operations, leadership, teaming and supply chain partnerships

Raleigh, NC, September 13, 2000—Tompkins Associates, the leading Total Operations consulting firm, and Warehousing Management magazine, the warehouse and distribution center manager's leading source for news, trends and events, today announced the search for the 2000 Peak Performer.

Now in its fifth year, the Peak Performer award is recognized as an industry standard of excellence. This honor recognizes a warehouse or distribution center manager for achieving success through excellent operations, leadership, teaming and supply chain partnerships. A panel of experts from Tompkins Associates and Warehousing Management will evaluate applicants' evidence of success based on:

  • Excellent warehouse operations (inventory accuracy, space utilization, technology and cost reduction)
  • Leadership (communication, performance measures, goal setting)
  • Teaming (team building, team-based strategies)
  • Supply Chain Partnerships (mass customization, value-added services, open communication, customer satisfaction)

The winner and runners-up will be honored in a cover story in the January/February 2001 issue of Warehousing Management, and in Tompkins Associates' magazine, Competitive Edge. Past winners include Ric Schneider of Miller Brewing, Mike Duciewicz of Ricoh Corporation, David Abeloe of Patagonia and the Black Box Team of the Black Box Corporation.
