Public invited to hear industry expert speak on the emerging trends in e-fulfillment and warehouse management solutions

Eden Prairie, MN, September 8, 2000—HighJump Software T, formerly Data Collection Systems (DCSI), will host supply-chain expert and author Dr. James Tompkins at its annual Users Group Conference Thursday, Sept. 21 from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. at the Marquette Hotel in downtown Minneapolis. The public is invited to attend.

Tompkins, one of the world's leading supply chain management experts, authors and consultants, will discuss several industry-critical topics, including how to achieve "Supply Chain Synthesis (SCS)" while reducing costs and inventory, and how to boost profits and your competitive advantage in spite of today's growing business challenges. These challenges include increased customer satisfaction requirements, demands to reduce inventory, demands for greater responsiveness and business at the speed of "e."

Tompkins has authored or contributed to more than 19 books, including No Boundaries: Moving Beyond Supply Chain Management, and has more than 500 published articles to his credit. Additionally, Tompkins was honored in 1999 as an inductee in Modern Material Handling's Hall of Fame.

In addition to Tompkins' address, the public is invited to hear the keynote presentation by Vicki Perry on Wednesday, Sept. 20 from 9 a.m.-10 a.m. Titled "The Resiliency of Change," Perry's presentation will discuss the core resiliency skills needed to face the changes and challenges of the new millennium. A nationally recognized human behavioral specialist and customer service expert, she will examine the need for flexible, self-reliant and positive service-based people in an organization.

Reservations are required for both the Tompkins and Perry presentations due to seating limitations. Individuals interested in attending should contact Erin Bahr at 952.947.0489.
